00. Getting Started

Introduction

Hello and welcome! I’m Sadness, and my goal is to make it easier for you to learn HTML and CSS so you can start building your own website.

Each of the lessons represents essential knowledge for learning. It is strongly recommended to read each lesson – in order – even if you’re not a complete beginner. I worked hard to try and keep each lesson as brief as possible, so they won’t take long to read.

Tools

To complete this course, there are a few tools you’ll need to have handy and ready to use – but they’re all free! Here is a list of what you will need:

  • A desktop PC or laptop
  • A CodePen account
  • A Neocities (or other static web host) account

Preliminary Knowledge

There is some preliminary knowledge required, but I’m here to walk you through it! This is just to ensure you will have a decent knowledge of the tools we will be using for this course.

If you have never used CodePen and need help getting started, read this.

This website is not monetized in any way. It purely exists to help others on their web-building journey. However, if you have the means to donate toward my server costs, I have a ko-fi account where I accept tips.
